Police: Missing Woman Depressed, Needs Medication

chicagotribune.comA 20-year-old woman missing for days is severely depressed and has not taken her medication, police said today while asking for the public's help in finding her.

Saara Shalabi, who also uses the name Amanda Pratt, had been taken from Midway Airport to Mt. Sinai Hospital for a medical evaluation, and was released on Tuesday, police said in a missing person alert.

While waiting at the hospital at 15th Street and California Boulevard for 311 assistance, Shalabi fled before receiving help and hasn't been seen since, police said.

Officials said Shalabi is severely depressed and has not taken her medication for weeks.

The alert describes Shalabi as white, 5-foot-2 and 115 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a light complexion. She was last seen wearing green shorts and a gray hoodie with pink stripes. Her  bottom lip is pierced and she has a "love forever" tattoo on her wrist.

She was last seen on Tuesday, August 23rd at 8:00 PM in Chicago near Mt. Sinai Hospital.
